About us

As a Barton-trained dyslexia tutor, I have the privilege of helping children and adults hone their reading and spelling skills to gain confidence in learning.

Growing up homeschooled, I was taught from an early age the value of reading and its importance as a gateway to knowledge and education and self-discovery.

As a mother, I know there is no greater joy than providing my child with the skills required to excel in life. Reading is foundational and so enjoyable. I love reading. Sharing and encouraging that love with my students is a joy.

As a second-generation Barton tutor, I have seen the profound changes that come from learning to read with confidence. My mother continues to tutor with the Barton method. Seeing her example encouraged me to follow in her footsteps. Showing children early on that facing a challenge head-on leads to a sense of personal accomplishment is transformative.

My mission is to partner with you and your family to build strong literacy foundations that will give you and your child newfound confidence in school, work, and all other areas of life. It is an honor to embark on this journey with you.

My Mission
To help children and adults read and write with confidence by patiently teach literacy skills with encouragement to support each person to become the best version of themselves.
What parent say
"Miss Bonnie has been working with my child for several months. In addition to working through the reading and spelling intervention Bonnie has provided a safe space to process the emotions surrounding what it means to have dyslexia for my child while focusing on and affirming the skills she has because of dyslexia. We would be happy to have a virtual meeting to see if we will be a good fit. Most parents get a good sense about compatibility after just one call.
